Re: clunking noise after fitting lower arms
How can they fail it if they don't know where the clunking is coming from (and therefore whether its safe or not for MOT standards)? If they knew the general area of the clunk then you'd be better able to address it - I can't see how they can fail it without telling you which component has any play.

Re: I need some help guys, please advice!
Not sure about the gearbox, but for the exhaust, personally I would only use the genuine one for a genuine look. I would definitely avoid 'off-the-shelf' exhausts, but you can get one made by an exhaust specialist, however, I prefer the original. Chip tuning / remapping is pointless on a petrol car ...

Re: Radio wiring problen
If I'm not mistaken (and if I've understood your post properly), you can't replace the Tunerlist with the Update List. The difference between the two (from what I heard) is the steering remote - Tunerlist uses tradition signals to the remote, whereas the Update List uses canbus. The one thing I noti...

Re: WATER WASHERS
Is the rear jet working? You could pull the hoses off each jet and see if they squirt any water out to rule out the pump..

Re: Rear Cluster
That's the foglamp - only, these cars only have one foglamp on the offside so that bulb on the nearside is just a dummy (as in, it's not wired in)

Re: Rear lights modification
Yes, BUT, even though the lights will physically fit no problem the wiring plugs are different. You can buy the looms from the dealers at stupid prices, or you can do what I did and chop the loom and plug (about a foot each side should be plenty) from the car you are getting the lights from - you wi...

Re: Weird Starting Issue
Thanks Alex. Regarding the fuel lines, you're probably right about the seals. I've tried to pull the connector off and they're pretty much locked into place, although I did think there was a bit too much play in them for my liking - the connector could be moved back by about 5mm (by feel - not visua...

Re: Weird Starting Issue
Thanks Alex - reading up on the internet, I did initially think the code might be C0035. This would make more sense because after my clutch was changed, the ABS sensor on the NSF became unplugged which threw the ABS light on but the light went out as soon at the sensor was plugged back in and the ca...

Re: Weird Starting Issue
Thanks Alex - I did have a look at a manual, but I couldn't find these. Any particular manual I should be looking at (there's a fair few manuals and I don't know where to start). Also, I'm wondering if the car's ECU has been changed at some point - my car doesn't have ESP etc. and I think one of the...

Re: Weird Starting Issue
My ELM327 has picked up some real weird codes:
Latest Code:
P0381 - Glow plug / heater indicator circuit malfunction
Other Codes:
P0303 - Cylinder 3 misfire detected (really? on a diesel?)
C3500 - No description available
C0010 - Left front inlet control (subfault)
U06AA - ?

Re: 1.9 dci
Generally speaking, it is normally on or immediately next to the thermostat - where this is on a Megane, I don't know as I've never looked for it. Follow the coolant pipes? Having said that, I was looking for the same on my brother's Passat and couldn't find it either.

Re: Clicking from wheel
Does the clicking only happen in a straight line or when on full lock? What wheels do you have (alloys or steel)?. The reason for asking is I had something similar on my Alfa a few years ago. It turned out that the wheel weights (used to balance the wheels) were foulding on the suspension somewhere ...

Re: Weird Starting Issue - UPDATE
I've ordered an ELM327 but I think it's safe to say that I now know why the car doesn't start, or rather, why on occasions it starts and then stalls and then will not restart - with this becoming more severe and more frequent.... I was initially going to check the glowplugs, so having got my multime...

Re: Weird Starting Issue
Thank Alex - will get an OBD on it this coming week, and yes it is the clear pipe (probably needs a clean but I don't think its totally clear on this car)

Re: Weird Starting Issue
Ok, I don't think the video's quite do this justice, but in the first video below you can just about see the bubbles in the clear pipe, and can hear the 'knocking' noise - it's quite distinct: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v714/TazzyK5/Megane%20Problem%20Videos/th_Project1.jpg The second video b...
