Re: Howling noise

when i have done mine i have always had the cat mounting bolts undone so that when you undo the 3 bolts joining the turbo and manifold it give you enough play to remove the old gasket and clean the surfaces.

be careful cleaning them thou as they are both a very highly machined surface.

Re: Rear ABS Ring sensors

heat the disc up then with a lot of force prise a stanley blade underneath the ring all the way round and re-stick it with a high strength silicone.

it worked for me and saves money

Re: '03 1.9dci poor FUEL ECONOMY & BURNING 1 Litre oil 1k mi

i reckon the exhaust maybe blowing. put your hand over the exit for the exhaust and see if it holds pressure. if it is blowing from the cat upwards thats your mpg problem.

Re: Problem After Cambelt Change!?

yes i'm sure the water pump runs off the cam belt but if it was seized then the engine wouldnt turn over because the cam belt isnt free to move.

i have never heard of one seizing before, they sit on bearings and these are what generally go.

Re: Howling noise

could possibly be a wheel bearing. my question is every one says that once the engine runs on sump oil theirs no stopping it. but if neutral is selected and the car is brought to a stop so that the mph reads 0 then the engine stop button can be pressed. all the diesels have an engine shut off valve ...

Re: Cam belt change 1.5 dci setting tool question

make sure all the pins are removed when torquing the bolt. lock the flywheel with a screw driver or what i prefer is to select 4th gear and have someone depress the brake pedal why tightening.

Re: 1.4 map sensor help

do not attempt to start your car. take the inlet manifold off and look for it. if you get stuck taking the inlet manifold off or putting it back together take it to a garage but do not start it as its going to likely result in engine damage.
