I, like you believed that the brake light was causing my leak. Upon closer inspection it turn out there was a leak between the glass and the boot frame. I phone auto glass and they wanted 150 quid to remove the glass and reseal it!! This is where halfords helped out because i purchased 'Loctite quic...

thanks for the pointers - but surely if the window will not close with me pressing or even holding the button down this means I have a problem - I mean I spent 1 hour trying to get the window to close then it closed on it own without me touching it. - that make me think there is a short somewhere

Alex - I went out to the car to perform the reseting of the window controller. I put the window down, then held the button to come back up and no response. There is no response from the drivers control either. So I am stuck with the window in the down possition when the car not stored in a garage!!!...

Window switch faulty?

Having only just got my auto gearbox sorted last week, my 04 plate is playing up again.. this time its the passenger electric window. If you put the window down it will intermitantly go back up, almost as if someone it jabbing at the switch. From the posts I am reading this seems to be a common issu...

no more gearbox issues - but noticed today that I now have a passenger window problem - almost as if the switch is shorting making the window go up.. - but read my new post about thank.

Renault manchester phone this morning to say that its a oil pressure sensor that is faulty.. cost of part is 60 quid (and they have it in stock) time to fitting = 4hrs total cost is going to be 389.49 - but VW doncaster is covering the cost :-) - just hope that is the only problem.

Update - right the car is booked in at Renault Manchester for Monday morning, the dealer (VW) where I purchased the car said they will be covering the cost.

I drove the car to work this morning - same problem - pulled onto the hard shoulder switched off the engine and back on again and it was fine - think this is a trip to renault
