Re: Rattle from dash area when warm
Its definitely not the fan. Strange that there is no rattle when cooler, and today I discovered that there is no rattle when its warmer as outside ambient temp was at 19 degrees!

Rattle from dash area when warm
Hi, I have a 58 plate 15dci which has developed an annoying rattle. The rattle seemingly comes from deep inside the dash area. I have tried various methods of damping, but only where I can reach without removing any covers etc. The strange thing is, it only rattles when the car is warmer, i.e. when ...

Re: Strange sound when dipping clutch to change gear
I had the car at a main dealer as its still under warranty. They had an initial look and want the back in car for 2 days. They're not sure what is causing the noise and even contacted Renault. They apparently said that its not normal - hence the request to take the car back in. The car goes in on Ju...

Strange sound when dipping clutch to change gear
Hi all,
I have a 1.5dci dynamique meg 2 - 58 plate. Recently I have noticed a strange whooshing type noise when I change gear. This occurs upon dipping the clutch and releasing the accelerator. Its sounds like air being sucked in, or something like that anyway! Any ideas out there?
Thanks, Tatt

Standard wheel sizes
Hi, Can anyone tell me what the ex-works standard wheel size is for a 58 plate megane 1.5dci dynamique s 4 door? I have this model (bought 3 months ago) and have reason to believe the 16'' wheels are NOT the original factory fitted wheels. Anyone out there confirm this for me?
Thanks, tatt

Re: Fumes entering cabin via dash vents
Thanks Dave - I've since done some sniffing around (but not yey removed the undertray) and when hot there does not appear to be evidence of 'smoking' oil. However, when I think back I was sat in the car the other morning with the engine running waiting for the screen to de-mist. So, the engine was c...

Fumes entering cabin via dash vents
Hi forum, My Megane 2006 1.5dci appears to have a problem with fumes entering the cabin, I suspect via the dash vents. This only occurs when the vent selector is set to external. Therefore I must assume the problem lies under the bonnet. I'm not sure if they are exhaust fumes or oil fumes (possible ...

'take up slack' upon driving off
Hi all, My Megane 1.5Dci (06) plate seems to to have a problem which manifests itself as as a clunk (felt through the steering column) as I set off from a standing start. It also occasionally does it on gear change, ie. 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd. Its almost like there is some slack in the drive or so...

whistling turbos / replacement lcd comp display
Hi all, Just been reading some threads regarding DCI turbo probs and/or the potential of probs. There was reference to whistling turbos and that it is possibly indicative of probs?? I was always of the impression that such whistles are typical of turbos? I have driven a few turbo engined cars in the...

loose/cluncky steering
Guess what? Yes, you've guessed it - the main dealer said they can't fault the steering/susp ect. However, they did notice the heat shield was bent (after heavy rain) and the trip comp lcd display needs replacing due to 'dark shadows' appearing and will replace under warranty. So all was not lost. T...

possibly not. I guess they may only suss if they had to run a diagnostic. But (and its a big but) I reckon they're all that crap they would never notice!

1.5dci re-mapping
One question for the techs: what do you think to 'chipping' the engine to unleash that power in waiting? Superchips claim an increase to 124 BHP with stacks more torque

Megane 1.5 dci - cluncky steering
Car goes into main dealer (evans-halshaw Renault - Hull) on monday. Hopefully they will be able diagnose prob and fix it! Had a look under myself and noticed offside track rod end was very tight as oppose to nearside which is loose?? In general I have to say the car is pretty good. There some niggle...
