Service due...2004 1.4 petrol

My car is due a service and I'm planning on doing it myself. Can someone tell what oil I need? It's an 04 petrol and there is a lot of conflicting reports on the internet. Also I'm planning on changing fuel filter, oil filter and air filter. Is there anything that I should be changing along with the...

I have checked the fuses and they seem to be fine, if it's a case of taking off the centre console to change whatever I will leave it as it doesn't annoy me that much.

Thanks

Re: Airbag Fault Codes - DF 071 - DF 072 - DF 210

We are discussing - if DF071 and DF072 is for definite the rotary contact in behind the wheel? - I will buy the used rotary contact from a breakers yard for the auto spark to fit and is there anything I should be wary of, afterall the last one i purchased was obviously a faulty one. - Also anyone an...

Re: Airbag Fault Codes - DF 071 - DF 072 - DF 210

I have tried to read the manuals and the diagrams and couldn't make heads or tails of it or see reference to my codes, sorry for being a novice and my intention is to get it sorted via a professional route and not trying it myself.

Thanks

Re: Airbag Fault Codes - DF 071 - DF 072 - DF 210

Car has never been crashed and that fault has only appeared recently as the last time I had problems with the airbag that code didn't come. But it's good to know that it could be the connectors under the seat. Any one any advice on buying a used squib as obviously the last one I got wasn't correct, ...

Airbag Fault Codes - DF 071 - DF 072 - DF 210

Thanks to Ikhan for pointing out what the codes actually meant, but I need to know what parts they are definitely associated with and roughly how much an auto spark would charge me to get it sorted. My car is up for MOT next saturday (thought it was this week) so have a weeks grace. The codes are - ...

Recommended Fault Reader

Car is idling really bad at the minute and i've only got the car serviced for MOT, local garage is looking £35 to plug the car in and tell me the faults.

I was looking on ebay and it seems obd readers can be had for around £25, can anyone recommend one from ebay for a novice.

Thanks

Re: New Speedo Clock

Interesting discussion. Thanks, guys, for cooling it off. I'd also like to know, for the sake of it, where the mileage data is stored. No doubt it will be in the manual somewhere; I doubt it is the display console. Finally, did you fix the original fault. Air bag lights are known to illuminate for ...

Re: New Speedo Clock

Can I just clarify the situation, I want new clocks so the airbag light will light on the dash board, as its a requirement now under new MOT regulations for the light to go on when the ignition is turned on then go off after a few seconds. So I have no other option to buy a new or used clock, as the...
