Re: How to remove rear exhaust mount on megane sport 225
If it's the mount on the passenger side, I did this by removing the rear wheel and going through the arch liner (need to remove a couple of torx screws IIRC and then you can bend the arch liner enough for access).

Re: Help with Exhaust fumes
I had this on mine - it was the EGR cooler pipe that was leaking. No obvious signs, but it was replaced and has been fine ever since. On the 1.5, there is a modified part available which I'm guessing means that this must be a common problem.

Re: Intercooler 'Leaking'?
All sorted - it turns out that the metal intercooler pipe (which is in 2 sections and secured together by a 'C' clip) somehow came undone. Clip fitted back (and £48.00 later :banghead), it's back to normal again! I might have left it loose when I tried to change the EGR cooler, or the garage might h...

Intercooler 'Leaking'?
I think my intercooler is shot - there's an 'air escaping' noise from around 2,000rpm onwards when driving (not when revving at standstill). Renault won't give me the part number (apparently, they're not allowed to any more). Any ideas of where to get one from, the part number, and / or if the same ...

Weird Window Problem (NOT the usual Temic problem)
I've got a weird window problem on my Megane which I have so far failed to resolve. The driver's window stopped working suddenly last year, and didn't work for a few months. It suddenly came back to life and had worked fine until a few months ago. When it stopped working, I took the control module o...

Re: 1.5dci egr...yeah, i know!
Hi folks, My 2005 1.5dci Megane has a lumpy idle, not always, but quite often. If you increase revs to 1000, it disappears. Before i start weeping that it may be DMF, I would like to check out the egr. Can you confirm that this is the egr, top centre in the picture please. http://i1240.photobucket....

Re: fumes in the air vent
Seems you have the same problem as mine - on mine it's the corrugated pipe between the egr valve and the manifold that's cracked. It's a known problem (apparently) and there is a modified pipe available (at least on the 106 version), but theirs not much posts on this subject.

Re: Wipers work - front, no water
Sounds like the pump. When trying to spray water onto the front screen, you probably get a squirt out of the rear jet as well? One word of advise though, don't buy the cheap ones off eBay - I would be on my 3rd one now in the space of a year as they last about 3 - 6 months. The pump itself is ok, bu...

Check Injection - Various Codes
I've had the 'Check Injection' message come up (together with the 'Service' light) twice in about 2 days. On both occasions, I was in 3rd gear and the light / message came up at around 3500 - 4000 rpm after a slight 'blip' in throttle response. The light / message goes out when I restart the car, ho...

Re: Lowered meganes
Maybe it depends on which 1.5 engine you have? Mine is lowered by 45mm all round on 18" alloys, but as its the 106 version (and therefore heavier at the front), my front splitter is worse for wear and the undertray scrapes on those sleeping policeman... I don't think aftermarket springs take in...

Re: headlight tinting?
I've painted the inside of the headlights on my old Alfa Romeo 156. As long as you don't paint the part of the headlamp that reflects the light, then the other chromed parts can be painted and the beam is more crisper (less light reflected off other areas within the headlamp). Opening them up for pa...

EGR Corrugated Pipe Cracked
I've been getting exhaust fumes entering the cab when idling (not really noticeable when driving along, only when stationary). I had this investigated today and it seems that the corrugated pipe between the egr and the exhaust(?) is cracked. Renault are saying this is a known problem and as such, in...

Re: Megane front coil spring paint colour
There's four versions of engines of the 1.5. On a 57, it will more than likely be either the 106bhp or 86bhp. If it's the 106, then I can possibly help with the colour if I can find my old springs somewhere

Re: Auto Wiper Fault
Missing or incorrectly installed gel won't give an error on the dash though. Have you checked the 3amp fuse under the flap in the glove box. There are only 2 fuses for this - the 3 amp in the glove box or a 7.5 under the bonnet. Failing that, it will probably be the sensor.
