Rear Hatch not opening

Hi, I had been having problems with my rear hatch not opening sometimes, then opening when driving along. Some nights I would lock the car and in the morning it would be open. I'd had the rear hatch to pieces looking at the locking mechanism, sprayed it with WD40, which seemed to work for a while th...

Re: boot won't open

Can you hear the motor in the tailgate trying to operate the lock? If so, there is a white plastic slot on the inside surface (ie underside when the lid is raised) of the lock which should move freely through an arc of about 1cm. (Incidentally it is this slot, accessible from inside the closed boot...

Re: flat spot when pulling away

I spoke to the Renault dealers regarding a software update, the person I spoke to seemed to have no knowledge of this and suggested that I was referring to a re code !! (79+vat) I suppose if it cures the flat spot then it's worth it, it does however seem daft that every time I replace a part I have ...

Re: boot won't open

ok part 3, I seem to have resolved it, I repositioned the catch as I worked out that the solenoid was working, I did check with Renault they quoted £41 plus vat to supply the part. They suggested that I have them fit it and recode the car £79 plus vat. I think the wd 40 must have worked, I saw this ...

Re: boot won't open

right, things have changed a little, i was sitting in the car with the engine running and after two or three minutes the boot lock actuated and I managed to open it. The issue now is that it won'd dead lock either with the key fob or the button inside the car. so it looks like at least I have access...

Re: flat spot when pulling away

Ask your dealer for a software-update, did the trick for me. They installed it after the dephaser pulley was replaced. Since then the powergap after driving 10-20 meters has gone. Had nothing to do with the dephaser, they told me, was a benefit of the the update. MPG has gone down a little, unfortu...

boot won't open

hi all, this afternoon I had an issue where when I started my car the boot would unlock.... this evening the boot stayed locked and wont open, I've tried the remote middle button, no luck, the rest of the central locking appears to be working ok though. Does anyone know how to open the boot is their...

Re: flat spot when pulling away

I've replaced all of the pencil coils now, just incase it was one of them, but it still does it, I have found that if I change the way I drive when the engine is cold it doesn't do it !!

still if it's a quirk of the car I'll have to put up with it, apart from that I really do like this car.

Re: flat spot when pulling away

hi, sorry no I don't, however I did notice that one of the pencil coils on cylinder no 2 was loose and on further investigation I could see that the bolt holding the coil had been snapped, presumably by an over zealous technician, I managed to drill it out and re tapped the hole, the flat spot is st...

flat spot when pulling away

Hi,

my 54 plate 1.6 Megane has a dreadful flatspot when pulling away from cold, once the car has warmed up it's marginally better

which of the known issues do I have.

There is no grinding noise on start up and it's the only issue I seem to have, it sort of spoils the nejoyment of driving it.

removing the wheels

Hi, this might sound a bit daft but I need to remove the wheels from my Megane and I appear not to have the tool to remove the centre cap of the alloys, i have hunted in the car including where the toolkit is but there does not appear to one there. Has anyone removed a wheel without one of these too...

Re: is it worth it ?

to be honest I'm not that bothered about the noise, it sounds like a result may be the panel filter, anyone want to buy a k and n 57i induction kit ??

Re: Tuning box fitting and test

I came across this site a while ago http://tuning-diesels.com/index2n.htm whilst I don't have a diesel Megane it appears that they do a tuning box at a reasonable price. There are plenty of testimonials to "big them up" I friend of mine has one fitted to his MG ZT, he swears by it. 65B
